Brand New Dashboard

Scalenut’s brand-new dashboard makes a lot more sense now from a workflow perspective.

That’s because it looks like a command center.

• SEO content that you’ve generated and are editing
• Content that you optimize from an existing URL 
• Keyword list for your keyword strategy

The key differences from the previous dashboard are that Scalenut has put more emphasis on SEO by reordering it to the top of the menu, and they no longer call it an “SEO hub”. Plus, they moved the talent network, my account, and help center links.

I believe these changes will help position themselves better against other competitors in the SEO optimization space.

I found the dashboard very easy to navigate and find what I’m looking for because it’s better organized.

Cruise Mode 2.0

In just four steps and about 15 minutes of my time, I was able to produce the first draft of an example article called “Scalenut Review: SEO Tool/Long-form AI Writer + What’s New”.

Step 1: Tell what the article is about

The greater detail that you add to the context description, the better output you’ll get from your first draft. You’re essentially giving the AI instructions on exactly what to write about.

Step 1.5: Tone of Voice (New!)

You’ll find a “tone of voice” section below the context description box.

After you click the dropdown, choose “+ add new.”

I was completely impressed with the accuracy of the AI in figuring out the overall tone of my website.

If I were creating an informational article, I think the overall tone would be more appropriate.

But since this review article is coming from my perspective, it needs to sound like me. That’s why I didn’t use it to create this review.

Step 2: Choose a Title or make your own

Scalenut AI recommends titles based on the top 30 articles in the search results for your desired target keyword.

I thought the AI-generated titles (H1) were a good start, but it wasn’t what I was looking for to stand out in the SERP, so I made my own blog title.

Step 3: Develop an Outline

Building an outline was pretty intuitive.

You can drag and reorder the H2 and H3 sections and change them to whichever heading type you’d like.

It allows you to delete sections too.

Step 4: Define your writing points

What I like most is that Cruise Mode is flexible enough to let you type in your own heading topics and writing points before creating the first draft.

Auto Optimization [Fixit]

The Fixit tool makes it easy to optimize existing content that you, your client, or the company you work for already made.

All you gotta do is add your link, your target keywords, and which country you’re primarily trying to rank the article in.

Keyword Planner

The keyword planner could definitely use some improvements, but overall I found it quite useful.

I thought it didn’t make sense that after I opened the report, it showed keyword clusters that were completely unrelated to my search but were recommended.

Even stranger was that all of the keyword clusters were recommended.

Then, I found that if I clicked the “sort by” dropdown, I was able to choose “relevance”.

In my opinion, I think they should get rid of the recommendations.

And the relevant keywords are what people should be presented first.

Ah, now the results make sense!

One of the cool parts is when you click on one of the keyword results.

It’ll show you the CPC and search volume.

If people are paying to show up in search engines for that term, it’s a good indication the value of the keyword is higher but with more competition attached.

Usually, keywords people bid high on bring in money for their business.

Speaking of that, Scalenut provides a fantastic competitor research tool right inside the content editor!

What I really think about scalenut

Scalenut is one of the best AI writers who aspire to be known as the best AI SEO tool.

I’ll discuss what I think is fantastic and what needs improvements from my professional SEO perspective, having ranked on page one already several times.

Semantic SEO

My biggest concern right now is the accuracy of the SEO score and the NLP key terms used for semantic SEO.

Scalenut made the article’s rough draft look like a superstar with a score of 84, but when I put it into Neuron Writer (which I personally use), it only got a score of 50 without further optimization.

I found many overstuffed, repetitive keywords in the initial draft. The words mentioned too much are in both yellow and red (overstuffing).

Semantic SEO is super important these days. And so…

When you’re editing content within Scalenut, be sure to keep in mind it’s only a guide and that some of the keyword estimations are too high.

You might only get on Google’s 4th or 5th page since maxing out keywords is the opposite of what you want.

Scalenut needs to tweak its AI to be more realistic because the goal isn’t to get the highest score.

If your content is worth reading and is contextually correct, then you’re winning. That’s why focusing on Google E-E-A-T is important when putting your content together.

Once these fixes are made, I think Scalenut will be an undeniable contender in the SEO industry.

Content Editor

What sets Scalenut’s content editor apart from others is the finer details.

The “Questions” tool will save you a lot of time on research when putting together your FAQs at the bottom of the article. I like that it uses sources from all over the web, such as Google “People Also Ask”, Reddit, Quora, and others.

The content editor is very professional, with lots of data and analytics to technically optimize your content.

I’m extremely impressed with all the available info on competitors, key terms, citations, outlines, and general content guidelines.

It’s a bummer that Scalenut doesn’t offer the ability to choose which competitors from the SERP you want to model your content from because not all ranking content will apply to what you’re writing about.

Cruise Mode

I think the Cruise Mode AI writer can make long-form content that reads well but uses repetitive structures, so there’s no doubt you’ll need to make changes.

Plagiarism check

I also put the same article copy into Grammarly for a plagiarism check and overall check.
The content showed as 6% plagiarized, but the wording didn’t reference any other similar review articles.

To be fair, Scalenut’s plagiarism checker provided the same 6% score.

The overall score was 85 out of 100, with several grammar and sentence structure corrections.

What do other users think about scalenut?

Scalenut has 261 mostly positive reviews on G2.

It’s got a 4.5 out of 5 approval score!

Scalenut has 384 reviews, with most of them being five-star and four-star ratings on GetApp.
